I'm an enthusiastic listener of true crime podcasts, having been caught up in the My Favorite Murder craze back when it started, but have read very few true crime books. While I've moved on to better and more responsible podcasts, my interest in true crime remains. When the opportunity to read Killing for Company crossed my path, I decided to give it a go, despite some of my discomfort around true crime reporting and attitudes.
One week until Christmas! ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS! I feel like the holidays can’t come quickly enough. Also, how is it still so busy? It is truly a mystery.
Despite my absolute love of the holidays, I feel like I haven’t been Christmassy enough this year. Perhaps that will change next week! Now on to this week in books!
Hi. This is a bit late. October was an absolutely crazy month, then NaNoWriMo took over my life in November. During these two months, I took a little bit of a step back from reading, blogging, videoing, Instagramming, everything. On the bright side, I did rediscover my burning love of Star Trek and started actually watching TV. Oh, and I actually wrote something for the first time in my life. Who would have thought?
I’m usually not someone who likes memoirs. I often find they they’re incredibly indulgent and not particularly fun to read – see my rant about H is for Hawk. That being said, I’m not sure what drew me to The Outrun. It might have been its gorgeous cover or its setting, but I picked it up for some reason and I’m so glad I did.
TBR Thursday is a weekly post hosted by yours truly. If you’d like to participate in TBR Thursdays, please feel free! Link me in your post so I can talk a look at what you’ve got on your shelves and so we can cry together about how we are never going to actually finish reading through our TBR piles.
TBR Thursday is one of my favorite weekly posts from Bionic Book Worm’s lovely blog. If you aren’t following her yet, well, you really should be. Not only does she do great reviews and bookish posts, she’s an all-around lovely person.
