I absolutely loved Spellbook of the Lost and Found when I read it back in 2017. Ever since then, I’ve been a big fan of Doyle’s fantastic, dream-like writing. All the Bad Apples was a hugely anticipated book for me, and I’m so pleased to say that I loved it even more than I could have hoped.
I love a good pirate story, but I find that they’re not too common. I was certainly intrigued by Daughter of the Pirate King when I first heard about it, but didn’t pick it up until my pal Asha lent it to me. She said it had pirates, adventures, and kissing -- what more do you need?
Retellings are a fairly new subgenre for me, and while I really enjoy them it can be a little tiresome to see the same fairy tales told over and over again. The Mermaid recently came to my attention and I was incredibly excited for a few reasons:
