When I first picked up Blood of an Exile, I expected it to be nothing more than a fun fantasy romp. It was indeed a super fun fantasy adventure, but I was delighted to discover that lurking between the pages was a fantastically nuanced, layered story that explores a fantasy world in a fantastic, unique way.
As soon as I heard about Do You Dream of Terra-Two? I knew it would be the exact kind of book I love. I went into this debut sci-fi novel with high expectations and they were surpassed. A beautiful, thought-provoking story of mankind’s first manned interstellar mission, Do You Dream of Terra-Two? will haunt you long after the last page.
I feel like I rarely read thrillers, and this is something I’d like to change. Having devoured Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train just before the height of popularity, I figured that The Woman in the Window would be the perfect thriller for me. It is so often compared to those two books that I was so sure I’d love it.
I was immediately intrigued by Gather the Daughters, and not just because of its gorgeous cover. The synopsis sounds like a creepy, horror-filled, literary dystopia. It gave me the same vibes as The Handmaid's Tale, which I recently read and loved, so I eagerly dove straight in.
