It’s no secret that monthly TBR’s don’t do much to help me keep on track with my reading. However, I don’t really want to move away from that format because it helps remind me what my reading priorities are, what I want to accomplish, and how many damn books I have. I’m going to try something new in May. Instead of a list of books I want to get to this month, I’m going to have a set of reading goals instead.
So my intention for this month was to have essentially no TBR and 'shop my shelves' for books I've had lying around and may have forgotten about. I decided to pick out a couple of priority titles and go from there. Guess how many 'priority' books I picked? 14. So I guess I unintentionally picked my TBR for April. Whoops.
I have decided to do something a little bit different with my TBR this month. I’ll usually have about 12-15 books on my TBR to give myself a little variety during the month, but that means I usually don’t finish them. February was a little bit of a disaster in terms of my TBR for a number of reasons, so I’ve decided to roll over my January and February TBR’s into a single month.
Hello all you wonderful readers! I decided to do something a little different this month for my TBR -- I let Scottish Fiance choose what I will read. I picked out the books I know I need to read this month and let him choose the rest. Was I worried? Absolutely. Did I need to be? Well...kind of, yes.
Happy January! I know it's so silly to say, but 2017 feels like it flew by so quickly! I cannot believe that this blog is almost a year old, and things have changed so much for me since I started it. Now that the post-Christmas haze is clearing, I've looked at my shelves and felt a great sinking feeling. I have so many books to read! Between the library and Christmas presents, there are so many amazing books sitting on my shelves. I know I won't actually stick to this TBR (because I so rarely do), but it should really help me figure out what to prioritise in the month of January!
It’s time for one of the most pointless yet enjoyable posts for me -- my monthly TBR! This was meant to go up on the 1st of December, but due to technical difficulties and laziness...well, it didn't. Because of this, there are a couple of books on this TBR that I've already read. You'll have to wait for tomorrow's wrap up to find out what those are!
So it’s nearly the end of the year, and I’m struggling a little to come up with a TBR strategy for this month! Usually I have a good idea of what I want to accomplish, but this month there are a bunch of things on my mind.
September is gone, and October is here! I’ve been doing these monthly TBR strategy posts because they really help me organise my thoughts and reading ambitions. October is going to be quite the busy month for reading, so this post is going to be so helpful! As you guys may have seen in the past, … Continue reading October TBR Strategy
It’s the first of September and that means two things – I’ll have to start wearing a jacket to work and it’s time for this month’s reading strategy! I really love doing these post because they help remind me of what’s been hiding in my TBR pile and gives me a little nudge of motivation.
I find these monthly TBR strategies really helpful. I’m the kind of person who instantly rebels against any kind of restriction for my reading, so I tend to use them more like guidelines than strict rules. My digital and physical TBR piles are absolutely staggering right now.
