Hi there! Did you miss me?
I went on an inevitable blogging hiatus for a good chunk of quarantine. My brain wasn’t up for it, and although I was doing a good amount of homeworking before the pandemic, transitioning into full-time homeworking AND adjusting to life in lockdown was a bit of a struggle. I decided that something had to give, and I instead dedicated myself to my YouTube channel.
I’m really glad I took this step. We’ve had some ups and downs in our household, the most notable being the terminal illness of our beautiful kitty Sophia. She’s doing great at the moment, but we know that our time with her is limited. I’ve spent lots of time curled up with her on the sofa while reading. Blogging has been the furthest thing from my mind!
However, I miss writing reviews and being able to support authors in this way! So I’m back to blogging and am very excited to shout to you all about what I’ve been reading while locked away in our flat.
As I average about 10 books per month, I have quite a lot of catching up to do with reviews! So what you’ll be seeing from me for awhile is this:
- Quarantine Reads posts — these will pull together mini reviews of thematically similar books (at least, thematically similar to my brain). This will seriously help with the backlog!
- I’ve been pretty good about finishing up series and reading more books by authors I love or have just discovered, so you’ll see me sometimes do two series reviews in one post! Beware spoilers for the later books (but these will be marked in the usual way).
- Dedicated review posts for upcoming and recent review copies that I’ve been graciously sent by the publisher.
I probably wont get back to weekly or monthly wrap-up posts anymore because I just can’t be bothered! If you’d like to see monthly wrap-ups from me (as well as a boatload of much more exciting and creative bookish content), do subscribe to my YouTube channel!
That’s it from me for now! Tell me what you’ve been up to these past few months! Has your reading changed at all? What have you been gravitating towards? Let me know!
