Hello pals! Where January felt like it lasted about 12 years, February absolutely flew past! I had a great month — including celebrating my one-year wedding anniversary (!!!) and going on holiday — for books and for life in general! Take a look below to see what my month in books was like.
Books I read
The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin
Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
The Library of the Unwritten by AJ Hackwith (review)
Pine by Francine Toon
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight by J. R. R. Tolkien
Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire (review)
Chilling Effect by Valerie Valdes (review)
The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water by Zen Cho
Harrow Lake by Kat Ellis
The Wolf of Oren-Yaro by K. S. Villoso (review)
I read ten books this month, which surprised me because I was stuck on one book for ages! This was a really interesting reading month for me for a few reasons:
- I felt like I barely read at all, but that clearly wasn’t the case! Thank you, train travel!
- I had some highs and lows — there are a few books here that are new favourites (hello, The Wolf of Oren-yaro and Pine) and others I had expected more from (Come Tumbling Down, I’m looking at you).
- I’ve started reading books much further in advance — Harrow Lake and The Order of the Pure Moon come out this summer, so I’m a few months ahead!
- I opened up my genre restrictions, as I could feel a reading slump coming on. Pine and Harrow Lake are very unusual reads for me, as they’re contemporary set, but I wound up loving them both!
Books I bought
Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire
The Mercies by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
Pine by Francine Toon
The Foundling by Stacey Halls
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight by J. R. R. Tolkien
Made Things by Adrian Tchaikovsky
I had one preorder come in, and I treated myself to a few new books this month. I’ve done a pretty good job of reading my purchased books, so that’s a start!
Book post
Thin Air by Michelle Paver
Mexican Gothic by Sylvia Moreno-Garcia
The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water by Zen Cho
The Book of Koli by M. R. Carey

I was lucky enough to receive some amazing books in the post this month! Most of these are from publishers, but Thin Air was purchased off my wishlist by Lauren. THANK YOU!!
A few of these review copies arrived too close to the publication date to review in time, however I’m planning on getting to them ASAP!
You’ve got a great selection of books! I really love the cover design of PINE.
