Hello friends, happy Friday! I, for one, cannot believe we are halfway through the spookiest month of the year. I’ve read a ton of books this week (I don’t know what magical thing happened this week but I’m definitely pleased), and today is the start of the Off the Grid readathon so I should get even more reading done this weekend!
Books I read
Angel Mage by Garth Nix
Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
Blood of Assassins by RJ Barker
The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson
I’m almost to the point of having read more books this week than I did in the entire month of September — crazy, huh? I read four books this week, mostly thanks to audiobooks! I completed Angel Mage on Friday of last week so I feel like it counts, and you can read my review here! I also blasted through the audiobooks of Blood of Assassins, the sequel to Age of Assassins, and devoured both Truly Devious and The Vanishing Stair. What a read reading week!
Books I am currently reading
Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
One of Us is Lying by Katherine M. McManus
Deeplight by Frances Hardinge
I’m currently reading three books — typical. I’ve fallen behind a little with Hodderscape’s Girls of Paper and Fire readalong, but plan to catch up over the coming week. I’m listening to a new audiobook — One of Us is Lying — because I am apparently obsessed with YA crime at the minute. And finally, I’m reading my proof copy of Deeplight — Frances Hardinge is a magnificent author and I’ve been looking forward to this for so long!
Books I hauled
I actually haven’t bought any new books lately and am cutting down on requests. Why? I’m feeling slightly overwhelmed by my TBR. I have so many good books in the flat right now and just haven’t been reading them! It’s also the run up to Christmas and my wishlist for my family is getting longer and longer.
I don’t think I’ll be able to stick to my good, non-hauling ways for long, but bask in my glory for just one week.

Omg that is the cutest doggie ever!!!!

The Assassins Trilogy by Barker is definitely on my list to hit soon – especially since I snagged all three for $10 in a sweet ebook deal! Hoping to get through TEN THOUSAND DOORS OF JANUARY this weekend…then to decide if now is the time to tackle a big hefty tome of a book or squeeze in something shorter….
