The first week of January is nearly over, and I’m still not out of holiday mode. I’ve been back at work for a few days now and my brain is still at home in front of the fire with a dog and a book. Boo.
Books I read
The Girl King by Mimi Yu
I only managed to read one book this week, but it was one I was incredibly excited about! While I liked this book well enough, it didn’t quite suit my tastes as a reader. I am confident that loads of you will absolutely love this highly anticipated YA fantasy — keep an eye out for my blog tour post next week!
Books I am currently reading
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
The Twisted Tree by Rachel Burges
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
I’m currently reading three books at the moment, but my main read is Stalking Jack the Ripper. This was one of the books I didn’t get a chance to read in 2018, and I’m making an effort to try to work through that list. I’m of two minds about this one — it has its ups and downs — but it’s definitely a fun and fast read!
My other two books are the upcoming The Twisted Tree, which I’ve only just started, and Throne of Glass, my current audiobook. I’m not far enough in either of these to really make a judgement, but I should have them finished by next week’s wrap-up.
Books I bought
Nothing! My goodness, I’ve gone all of 2019 without buying a single book! Aren’t you proud?
Things have been a little quiet in the I Should Read That household, so this post is much shorter than usual. It is going to get pretty busy here over the next few months as I start the Beat the Backlist challenge and take part in the Off the Grid Readathon! Join me and Shanah for this awesome reading challenge next weekend.

What have you guys been up to this week? Have you read anything good? Did you get any great books? Let me know!
Enjoy your books, Stalking Jack the Ripper is on my TBR.

Your self control on buying books in 2019 is commendable!
