So it’s nearly the end of the year, and I’m struggling a little to come up with a TBR strategy for this month! Usually I have a good idea of what I want to accomplish, but this month there are a bunch of things on my mind.
According to Goodreads, I have read 83 books for the year, which is far and away the best reading year I’ve ever had! I decided that I’m going to try to get to 100 books by 31 December. So that means I have 17 books to read by the end of the year. I think I can do it! So that means short and/or quick reads.

I’ve also got so many physical and digital ARCs to get through. I’m doing alright for the physical ones, I’ve been really good about reading and reviewing in time for publication, but have fallen behind on my digital ones. I have a bunch of books that release in January and February, so I want to get going on those now.

Also! I have bought so many freaking books that I actually need to read some of them. Geez. On the plus side, I’ve pretty much wrapped up my book buying for this year (with the exception of Oathbringer, of which I will probably get both the US and UK editions). So that means I’ve got a month to catch up on my purchased books before I (hopefully) get more at Christmas.
So as you can see, I’ve got a lot on my mind. Usually I’d hone in on one of these goals, but I’m going to try to attack all three in the month of November. I managed to read 10 books (!!!) last month, so I’m going to aim to do the same this month. If I read 10 in November, that only leaves 7 in December, and I’ll hit my goal!
I’m just going to throw out a bunch of book titles that I’m interested in and we’ll see what I actually read this month.
Proofs (all out in January 2018):
The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsey Cummings
The Fandom by Anna Day
I am Thunder by Muhammad Kahn
Finished review copies:
The Crow Garden by Allison Littlewood
Blade Runner (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?) by Philip K. Dick
Cryptozoic! By Brian Aldiss
The Embedding by Ian Watson
Austral by Paul McAuley
This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada
Purchased:
Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kauffman
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chockshi
The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury
Night Film by Marisha Pessl
Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer Michelle Hodkin
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
So that’s 17 books total to choose from. I know I’ll deviate from this, but honestly that’s to be expected!
Are they re-releasing Phillip K Dick’s books?? Illuminae should definitely be one of the 17! It looks thick, but it’s a really quick read, and it’s a really great book.
100 is nice round number. YOU CAN DO IT!
