Instagram Sundays

It’s time for Instagram Sundays — a roundup of this week’s bookstagam posts.  This week’s post is brought to you by my birthday and a weekend in London.

This is an advance copy I was sent for review. I’m really enjoying it (and its simple but effective cover)!  It’s an adventure filled with wrongful imprisonment, an invasion, and both good and bad magic.

So V. E. Schwab is an author I knew nothing about until I started blogging. I follow her on Twitter and it turns out she’s a lovely and inspirational person. I’ve decided that I’m going to buy and read all of her books simply because of that. This is what I’ve acquired so far!

Birthday presents!  Scottish Fiance got me these because they’re the editions of my favorite books that I treasure most. The Hobbit is the edition my mum had and my parents would read to us from. The Lord of the Rings editions are the ones I borrowed from the Queens library when I read the whole trilogy for the first time.

Hey!  My Ninja Book Box showed up!  I’m a rep for this great company and received my box on my birthday — they have great timing.  The thing I like about them is that they work with independent presses to bring you books you may not have heard about.

The contents of my Ninja Book Box. I should have snapped a more clear photo, but I had a train to catch!

Another snap of The Never King. I do love a good shadowy pic.

The England vs. Scotland game was on on Saturday. The whole family watched, but I took it as an opportunity to sneak in some reading time.

A fun fact about me is that every team I root for in a major tournament loses. I’m not kidding. I have a four-year losing streak at the Superbowl (it would be nine years but the Giants and the Packers ruined that)! Scottish Fiance made me root for England on Saturday, which resulted in a tie.

And finally, the Birthday Book Haul!  Some of these I bought myself, some were gifts, some were books I got to pick out as a gift, and one, to be fair, is an ARC. There’s some amazing stuff in here, and I can’t wait to get going!

Once I use up my remaining gift-book budget, I’m going on a buying freeze.  This usually goes poorly, but we’ve got a wedding to save up for.
That’s it for this week!  You can follow me on Instagram here. Are you on Instagram?  I’d love to follow your posts — send me your handle in the comments!
