Instagram Sundays

The first Instagram Sunday of May!  It’s a gorgeous day and there are stacks of books waiting to be photographed.

New April books. Yikes!  I violated my ‘two books out, one book in’ rule a little bit and am still trying to catch up.  But I think I made some good choices!  I’m currently reading Strange the Dreamer and it’s absolutely wonderful so far.

An Instance of the Fingerpost was my Hatchards subscription pick for the month and I won False Hearts in a Twitter contest.  I can’t wait to get started on all of these!

The TBR pile.  Reshuffled and now with more fairy lights!  I did a little editing to my TBR, as explained in my April round up post.  I took out a couple of books that were the first in a series to avoid the temptation of buying the rest of them.  I think this is a good stack to work with!

So about 5 hours after I posted my May TBR strategy, in which I declared  I would only be reading books off the nightstand pictured above, I bought three more books.  Shameful, I know, but I have been wanting to get The Hate U Give for ages and it was on a 3-for-2 promotion.

A nonfiction pic!  I am in love with this amazing cover.  This book looks fascinating and is on a subject I know so little about.  History is about the only nonfiction I read.

The 4th of May is Star Wars Day (as in, ‘may the fourth be with you’ for those not in the know).  I’ve actually only read one of these five books, Wishful Drinking, and need to get cracking on the rest.  I find that the Star Wars books can be really hit or miss.

It’s a beautiful day, so we went on a little book adventure.  I absolutely loved Uprooted.  I knew very little about it going in and was blown away.  It’s a grown-up fairy tale that strikes the right balance of magic, romance, and drama.

That’s it for me this week!  If you’d like to follow me on Instagram, you can find me here.  If you’re a Bookstagrammer, I’d love to follow you!  Send me a link to your account in the comments.

    1. Thank you!! I wish I had nicer backdrops in the flat, that’s why I like to go outdoors! I’m so jealous of all the bookstagrammers who have such gorgeous white space to use. My few white surfaces are covered in cat hair 😀
