Happy Friday, everyone! I considered not doing a weekly wrap up because I’ll be posting my April round up on Sunday. But I really like doing weekly wrap ups, so here we go.
Books
Books I finished reading:
Northern Lights by Philip Pullman
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
The Lady and the Highlander by Lecia Cornwall
Hey, I read three books this week! Not too shabby. I loved Northern Lights, despite complaining here in the past that I was struggling to get into it — I repent! I ended up absolutely loving it. A Court of Thorns and Roses is one I have been meaning to read for a long time and finally go to it this week. I have thoughts, lots of thoughts. I plan to post a review and some sort of discussion on this soon. The Lady and the Highlander was the ARC I finished up this week. Unfortunately, it just didn’t click with me. There were a lot of elements that didn’t make any sense and the characters were very weak.
Books I’m currently reading:
A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab
I was asked to join a fantasy bookclub by my coworker (!!!!!!) and their next book is A Darker Shade of Magic, which has been sitting on my shelf for over a year. I’m only about 50 pages in so far, but I can tell I’m going to love it!

Books I bought:
Collected Ghost Stories by M. R. James
Only one book bought this week! This is one of my publisher’s books so you won’t be seeing any reviews of it here! It’s a gorgeous edition and who doesn’t love a ghost story?
What I’ll read next:
TBR:
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh
The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melissa Salisbury
I was going to read The Wrath and the Dawn next as of last week, but A Darker Shade of Magic slipped up the TBR stack. The Sin Eater’s Daughter is another gorgeous book that I’ve been negelecting and will clear a book out from my nightstand TBR pile.
ARC:
Sea by Sarah Driver
Skullsworn by Brian Staveley
I just finished an ARC last night and have so many to get through! It’s a little overwhelming, but I think these two will be fast and enjoyable reads.
Life
It’s another bank holiday weekend — this time we only get Monday off — so I’ll be heading over to London to spend some time with my parents! As we are a family of readers, this means I’ll be getting lots of reading done.

What are you planning to read this weekend?
I will be finishing The Sellout while you are here!

Will you be getting lots of reading done? Or will a cute little kitty cat be sitting on your book?! 😀

There will probably be a lot of cat interruptions!
