Happy Sunday, all! The sun is shining, spring has sprung, and it’s time for a wee Instagram roundup.
I’ve been at the Oxford Literary Festival all week and their fabulous bookshop is really hard to resist. I saw this cover and instantly fell in love. Girl Trouble is a social history of women growing up in the 20th century. How could I not pick it up? I’ve seen the author speak on a different book of hers and she’s pretty amazing. I can’t wait to dive in.
I might have gone a bit overboard with book buying this month. As you all know, it was SUPPOSED to be No Buy March, but that clearly didn’t happen. In order to actually have money for food and rent in April, I’m going to try to hold back a bit because buying bans clearly don’t work for me. If you’d like a complete list of these books, check out my March roundup.
I’m so happy to say that I’ve finished reading The Handmaid’s Tale for the first time! I had always passed it by because honestly it sounded completely terrifying, but my coworker lent me her copy and I dug in this week. It’s a very unsettling yet fantastic read, and I think it’s important to read in the context of our current society and political climate.
Again, my TBR pile is threatening to fall on my head and kill me. But what a way to go.
I had requested some help on deciding what to read next! These are all in my pile and they all look great. I think I’ll end up going with The Girl of Ink and Stars followed by Caraval.
What could be better than a gorgeous book, a cupcake, and a sunny Saturday afternoon? I’ve heard so many good things about Strange the Dreamer that I decided to pick it up. I haven’t read any of her other stuff, but that apparently wont be a problem.
Austen-themed cupcakes! Happy Cakes in Oxford came by the literary festival and set up shop.

Happy reading and have a wonderful week!
